Athlete of the Week: Cody Hoffman
Just based off of what I saw at this past BYU game, there was no doubt in my mind who was going to be this weeks athlete of the week. Congratulations to Cody Hoffman (#2) for winning this weeks Athlete of the Week! His performance in Honolulu was amazing. As I watched him perform, I was just amazed at what he was capable of. His one-hand catch play (see Cougars Wind Down the Warriors to watch the play) against Hawai‘i was so amazing, that it made 7 on the Sports Center's top 10 plays. Cody Hoffman is only a sophomore (so he still has more damage to do) and is 6'4" weighing at 208 pounds. He is a starting wide receiver from Crescent City, California. He redshirted in 2009 and came in to play in 2010. He gained a total of 1,348 yards total from his freshman year to today. 1,218 of those were kickoff return yards. He's scored seven touchdowns in his freshman year and this year, giving him 14 touchdowns. His career high for yards was 162 yards against Oregon State. Against TCU, he got 167 yards from just kick off returns alone. Congratulations Cody!
