MBKB–Cougar's Knock Off Longwood

After beating BYU-Hawai‘i, Charles Abouo (#1) lead the Cougar's to another victory against the Longwood Lancer's. Tonight's game was played on the Cougar's very own home court at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. Abouo sunk 19 points and rebounded the ball 16 times for a career high. Coach Dave Rose described Abouo as a "guy who has great athletic ability...and felt comfortable as a player in the role that we needed him to perform in." The impressive thing about tonight's game was that they, all together, scored fifteen 3 pointers, just one short of the Marriott Center record. The game started off with a real kick. Brandon Davies (#0), last game's star, assisted Noah Hartstock (#34) with a dunk. That's the kind of energy that everyone loves to start a game off with! However, even with that kickoff, the Lancers were able to get away with a 10-2 lead before the Cougars would see another point. Noah Hartstock woke the team up one more time with a jump shot and got the Cougar's on a run of their own. The first quarter ended with the Cougar's leading the game with a 35-29 lead. My favorite part about that half was how six different players all shot 3 pointers and made all six, which ended that half. But the Cougar's didn't let that adrenaline rush stop their. They carried it all through the second half and Abouo lead the team with a double-double juicier than a burger from In-N-Out! In addition to that, how about that Hartstock kid with 18 more points? But the starters aren't the only ones showing enthusiasm. Steven Rogers (#21) was amazing and came with the third-most amount of points scored: 17 points! And that's not all. Damarcus Harrison (#24) showed his aspire to play by shooting up 11 points! The game ended with a score not even close. The Cougars left Longwood in the dust with a 32 point difference. The final score was 92-60 Cougars. Don't miss the next game as the Cougars take on Prairie View A&M at 4:00 P.M. HST! Go Cougars!
